These tables introduce the population census data conducted by the Mexican government in 1980 and 1990. As of 1990, almost 9 million people lived along the U.S-Mexico border, and 3.8 million of them lived in different Mexican municipio.
These tables are of interest to the project because they provide insightful data on the population of communities living on the border areas on the Mexican side.
